FactVote used the enacted FY2027 expenditure total and fund-source table from Kentucky's 2026–2028 Budget in Brief. Executive units were grouped into broad service areas, the judicial branch was added to justice and public safety, and an exact residual preserves the statewide total. FY2025 tax-source shares and audited activity come from the government-wide ACFR; current rates come from the Department of Revenue and the Commonwealth's official 2026 property-rate announcement.

  • The $60.396 billion headline is enacted expenditure authority across all funds and branches, not audited spending or State tax revenue alone.
  • The Budget in Brief reports a larger $65.028 billion FY2027 source-of-funds total because balances, continuing resources, and receipts can exceed expenditures during a fiscal year; FactVote uses expenditures for the headline and fund mix.
  • Service-area totals are FactVote groupings of official branch and cabinet totals, not categories published as a single State table; the exact residual retains every remaining expenditure.
  • Kentucky's 10.3-cent State real-property rate is only one part of a property-tax bill. Local rates vary by jurisdiction and are outside the displayed State rate.

FactVote uses EIA’s Midwest series, the smallest current EIA retail region that includes Kentucky. Changes are calculated from the published August 24, 2026 (prior week), and September 1, 2025 (52 weeks earlier), observations.

Keep in mind
  • EIA does not publish a current Kentucky statewide weekly gasoline-price series. This Midwest regional estimate should not be read as Kentucky’s statewide average.
  • The regional average combines Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, and does not represent the price at every station or in every Kentucky community.
  • Prices are nominal and not adjusted for inflation or seasonal patterns. Weekly estimates can be revised and can differ from monthly averages.

  • Kentucky labels the turnout reports unofficial because they are produced after voter-registration rolls reopen, so later moves and removals can create differences from election-result totals.
  • Primary eligibility varies by party registration and contests, so the statewide registered-voter denominator is a broad comparison base.
