Source material keeps its own rights
FactVote displays or links quotations, documents, images, statistics, and video from other sources. Those sources may have their own copyrights, licenses, terms, and attribution requirements. Inclusion on FactVote does not grant permission to copy or republish them. FactVote does not claim ownership of third-party material.
Quoting and reuse
When citing FactVote, identify the page, its URL, and the date viewed; also cite the original source for the underlying claim. An attribution alone does not supply permission. Check the relevant license, obtain permission where needed, or assess an applicable legal exception before reusing material.
Fair use depends on the circumstances; there is no universally permitted quotation length or percentage. See the U.S. Copyright Office fair-use guidance. Federal government works have specific rules under 17 U.S.C. § 105; do not assume all government-hosted or state and local government material is free of copyright.
FactVote material and identity
FactVote’s original writing, design, and branding are distinct from its source material. No general republication license is granted by this page. Do not imply that FactVote or Chris Sanders endorses your publication, product, candidate, or organization. Contact [email protected] about permissions or attribution questions.
Report a rights concern
Email [email protected] with the FactVote URL, the specific material, the original work or source, your relationship to the rights holder, and an explanation of the concern. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information. This contact route is not a claim that FactVote has a registered DMCA designated agent, and a report does not guarantee removal.
