DOCTOR • VETERAN • FATHER

Source-published biography

I am a doctor, veteran, small business owner, and proud father running to represent New Jersey’s 12th District. I grew up working-class in Old Bridge and earned an ROTC scholarship to pay for my education at Rutgers. I joined the New Jersey Army National Guard and worked my way through Rutgers Medical School. While in residency, I treated victims and other first responders in a field hospital at Ground Zero on 9/11. I rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Army and served as a combat trauma surgeon in Iraq at the height of the war. One of my patients later became a United States Senator – Tammy Duckworth.

STAY INVOLVED

Candidate-stated

Every day, I see working families getting crushed by the health insurance industry. Premiums feel like a second mortgage. Treatments are denied while patients are getting sicker. As a doctor, I am forced to waste my time fighting insurance companies. In the richest country the world has ever known, no one should be choosing between rent and medical bills. That's not a healthcare system – it’s a scam to enrich CEOs.

STAY INVOLVED

Candidate-stated

As a physician, husband, and father, maternal health is a top priority for me. Black women are several times more likely to face maternal health challenges in this country, and I commit to supporting legislation to address that disparity, especially with regard to the Black maternal mortality rate.

Positions and priorities

A position shows what the candidate said—not FactVote's endorsement.

Each summary is supported by the candidate's own words from a campaign source, direct candidate response, or official primary record retained with the profile.

Healthcare

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Policy

Create universal single-payer healthcare with no out-of-pocket costs while expanding benefits and reducing prescription-drug and intermediary costs.

  • Support Medicare for All including hearing, dental, and vision; empower Medicare to negotiate drug prices; rein in pharmacy benefit managers; fight hospital consolidation; support medical-debt cancellation; address maternal-health disparities; codify abortion rights in federal law.

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

The root cause of our failing healthcare system is a choice to protect a greedy industry that prioritizes profit over health and well-being. We need universal, single-payer healthcare with no out-of-pocket costs. Crucially, Medicare for All would also expand coverage to include hearing, dental, and vision insurance.

Education

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Goal / Priority

Strengthen public schools so every child can receive a high-quality education regardless of ZIP code.

  • Current campaign homepage says families should not need private tutoring or after-school programs to compensate for gaps in public education.

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

Many parents turn to tutoring and after-school programs to fill the gaps. That should not be necessary in a state like New Jersey. Every child deserves a great public education.

Economic Justice

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Goal / Priority

Build an economy that works for working families rather than primarily benefiting wealthy individuals and large corporations.

  • Campaign materials emphasize affordability pressures involving housing, groceries, utilities, healthcare, and wages.

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

Housing, groceries, and utilities keep getting more expensive. Families work harder and still fall behind. The economy works for corporations and billionaires, not the people who build and sustain our communities.

Fighting Corruption & Fixing Democracy

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Goal / Priority

Reduce corruption and abuse of power and make government more accountable to ordinary residents rather than special interests.
