Candidate biography

Source-published biography

Collin cares about the people of Illinois and has empathy for the challenges families face because he has faced the same challenges. He got his first job at just 12 years old to help his family. He couldn't afford to go to college. He started his first business from a closet in his apartment. His wife got (and beat!) cancer in their first year of marriage. They struggled to buy their first home and are still working to afford their forever home. And it took over 6 years of trying, and 3 years of IVF, before their little boy was born. Collin understands the struggles of everyday Illinoisans.

The Movement

Candidate position

We are starting with an Independent campaign for Illinois Governor and Lieutenant Governor led by political strategist Collin Corbett and policy expert Carolyn Schofield. They are everyday people, not millionaires or billionaires. They care about the people of Illinois and have empathy for the challenges families face because they have lived the same challenges. They have both shown the courage to stand up for what's right, even against their own political party and even when it costs them personally and professionally.

Candidate statement

Candidate position

In his political career, Collin has always stood up for what's right, even against his own political party and even when it cost him dearly. When he was just 24, he helped defeat the local political party boss who had been caught in his children's playroom with prostitutes. Collin lost his job for opposing the party. In 2013, he defended the Republicans who voted for marriage equality in Springfield, costing his business clients. And he has been repeatedly attacked for daring to speak out when he disagreed with the President.
