The outcome is farms on the razors edge of failing, will fail. Those properties, water rights and histories are being scooped up by mega corporations, private equity, or investors, who only let them stay as farms until they can be butchered and sold off in pieces for the greatest profit.

Fairness Doctrine Reinstated and Applied to Social Media

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Policy

Reinstate a Fairness Doctrine-style requirement for broadcasters and apply a comparable multiple-viewpoint standard to social media.

  • Campaign frames the proposal as a way to rebuild trust in news, broadcast, and social media
Read exact supporting textExact evidence retained

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

The Fairness Doctrine required news and public affairs broadcasters to give equal opportunity/time to all sides. This meant that a media license holder could not promote one-sided opinions, but had to present more than one side of all the issues a media company was covering. However, since it’s repeal in 1987, broadcasters now present heaviliy to one side of issues. Given that all of mainstream media is owned primarily by a select few individuals whose primary motivation and goal is profit, it is fair to say that “We the people” are being played by companies less concerned with truth and more concerned about investors and profit margins. This can also be said of social media companies. I want to help Americans regain our trust in news, broadcast, and social media outlets.

Read exact supporting textExact evidence retained

  • Campaign links buybacks to executive compensation and short-term incentives • Also calls for investigation of private-equity effects on service businesses

Bonus, investigate Private Equity and the effects on the market, which is not a net positive. They are currently buying up service companies like HVAC, Plumbing, Electrician, etc, and pushing expensive replacements or repairs.

Get the Government Out of Our Private Lives

Homes Are for Homeowners, Not Investors

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Policy

Support restrictions on large corporate purchases of homes in order to protect household access to homeownership.

  • Campaign endorses the 2026 federal executive action restricting large institutional home purchases
Read exact supporting textExact evidence retained

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

President Trump signed an executive order banning large companies from “investing” in homes and raising rent on working people. I agree with this executive order and believe it is in the best interest of Americans to have access to affordable housing. The percentage of homes owned by large companies is a small percentage of homes, but any relief is helpful and useful. The dream of home ownership has disappeared for a large section of our population and that is unacceptable. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/01/stopping-wall-street-from-competing-with-main-street-homebuyers/

  • CMS should
Read exact supporting textExact evidence retained

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

I support President Trump’s efforts to bring down the cost of medicine! This is lifesaving. It’s unfortunate Mike Simpson couldn’t do the same with his affirmative vote to prevent the government from negotiating drug prices. More must be done!

Remove Hidden Taxes

Candidate position
FactVote summary · Policy

Use tariffs selectively rather than broadly and reform trade relationships to reduce household cost increases the campaign attributes to current tariffs.

  • Campaign describes tariffs as useful in limited circumstances • Calls for a return to 'responsible tariffs' and repaired trade relationships
Read exact supporting textExact evidence retained

The text below is the exact source material used for this statement.

It is estimated that the tariffs currently in place has increased costs to the average household by about $1,700 per year. This is an increase that most Idahoans simply cannot afford. I believe responsible tariffs are a useful tool in limited circumstances. However, we need to get back to responsible tariffs and reform our relationships with other countries who not only rely on us, but with whom we rely on for goods.
