The U.S. Election Assistance Commission's state-reported 2024 general-election voter total as a share of Georgia's active registered voters.
Latest official turnout comparison
General: Nov. 5, 2024 · Primary: May 19, 2026- General election turnout
- 73.83%
- Primary election turnout
- 28.19%
The general rate is recalculated from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission's state-reported active-voter totals; the primary rate is recalculated from Georgia's complete 159-county official results table.- This is not a within-cycle or like-for-like denominator comparison: the general measure uses active registered voters, while the primary table labels its denominator simply as voters.
Official participation totals
- 2024 general voters
- 5,297,500
- 2024 active registered voters
- 7,174,961
- 2026 primary ballots cast
- 2,077,082
- 2026 primary voters
- 7,368,167
How it was measured: FactVote divides the EAC's published Georgia total of 5,297,500 voters by 7,174,961 active registered voters and rounds to two decimals. For the primary comparison, FactVote independently sums ballots cast and voter denominators across all 159 counties in the Secretary of State's certified table and also rounds to two decimals.
Keep in mind- The EAC administrative turnout total is 236 higher than the Georgia Secretary of State's certified ballot-audit total, reflecting different administrative compilations; it should not be treated as a certified contest vote count.
- Georgia's 2024 results site reports zero registered voters but nonzero ballots for Clay and Peach counties, so FactVote does not use that incomplete table to calculate the general-election rate.
- The general and primary comparison spans different election cycles and denominator conventions, and registered-voter turnout is not voting-eligible-population turnout.
