Hi there! I'm Alex Hazen

Candidate-stated

I'm a 29-year-old healthcare simulation software developer running to represent Florida's 5th Congressional District. I'm not a career politician, I won't take money from corporations or special interest groups, and I will fight for the everyday people of this district. My entire adult life, I've watched policymakers on both sides of the aisle fail to deliver results. It's time to bring a new perspective into our leadership. I'm not here to manage a broken system - I'm here to help re-engineer it, ensuring our leadership reflects the lived realities of the people it serves.

Candidate-stated

I was raised during a period of rapid technological growth. I was three when I learned how to use a computer, created my first social media profile in middle school, and had internet access in the palm of my hand throughout high school. I received my Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where I learned how to code and develop software. Today, I work with emerging technologies including virtual reality and artificial intelligence. I understand the challenges and opportunities of this new technological era, better than most, and I want to help create and shape policies that embrace innovation while protecting our youth, our minds, our privacy, and our future.

Hi there! I'm Alex Hazen

Candidate position

My entire working life has been in Florida, and I moved to the state right before COVID closed the country and the world down. When things opened back up, my job was fully remote. I could go anywhere I wanted. But I had fallen in love with both Florida and my fiancée, Haley, a 4th-generation Jacksonville native. When deciding where we wanted to start a family and raise kids together, there was no question — we moved to Northeast Florida to settle down and we plan to raise a 5th generation here in Jacksonville.

Hi there! I'm Alex Hazen

Candidate position

That is why this race is important to me. I want to build a future and start a family here in Jacksonville, just like many others my age — but the cost of living and the direction of the country have made that dream increasingly harder to reach. I believe in bold, real policies that make life genuinely more affordable and secure for working people.

Hi there! I'm Alex Hazen

Candidate position

I am a young, energetic candidate. I'm more than two decades younger than the other candidates running for this district and this fight is personal to me. I'm not just advocating for affordable housing, Healthcare for All, and workers' rights and protections from the outside; I'm living the same pressures as everyone else my age trying to build a future here. These issues aren't abstract policy points to me. They are the future I want to help build, the district I want to raise my family in, and the reason I'm running.
