How evidence matching works

A candidate position matches when its reviewed statement or source excerpt explicitly supports your selection. Statements that point the other way, contain mixed language, or merely mention the topic remain separate and do not increase a candidate's match. A vote matches only when exact official text establishes the measure's direction and the recorded Yes or No moved in the same direction as your selection.
