I am an Arizona native, a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Mines and have spent my entire 45 year mining career in Arizona. I started with Miami Copper Company while going to college, then spent the first 11 years of my career with Magma Copper Company, 9 years in Superior and 2 years in San Manuel. The last 30+ years were with Salt River River Project dealing with coal and uranium fuel supplies for our generating stations. This included overseeing the capital budgets and mine plans for several coal mines, including five years as board chairman of the Trapper coal mine in Craig, Colorado.
